Kaison Odenbach cloth factory- Franchimont (B)
The forge of Rainonfosse still prosperous during a good part of the 18th century, was in 1792 in a state of total disrepair and will be totally demolished in 1811 to make way for a textile factory belonging to Kaison de Verviers. Then it will become the big Odenbach cloth factory that employed nearly a hundred workers - men and women
Around 1900, the plant was decommissioned and bought by the City of Liège to establish a school colony to to welcome the children of the primary schools of the city whose health necessitated a stay in the countryside .The occupation of these premises began in 1916 and ended in 1958.
