Lime-kiln "De Biebosch"

Around 1937 this site in Valkenburg aan de Geul (NL) has been reactivated by E. America who is already operating lime-kilns in the region. The older existing kiln at the right is renovated and at the left a second new kiln is build. The quarry is just behind the kilns. They have been producing agricultural lime, lime for water treatment in the coal mines and for the chemical industries. The production came to a halt in 1960.
