The Sugar Mill of Avezzano (central Italy) was built between 1880 and 1890. The industrial discrict comprised the sugar mill, the distillery and a malt plant. During the 30s were added a huge all-in-one building called "Casa Zucchero" (=Sugar House) and a tall cooling tower. It is abandoned since 1986, complete intact outside and inside.
The picture shows the majestic Casa Zucchero inside. Remarkable is the architecture of the roof.
