Gasometer Wuppertal
At the beginning of the 1950s, the MAN Gustavsburg plant received an order to build a new disk gas tank in Wuppertal Heckinghausen (D). Its more than 66 meter high silhouette characterizes the cityscape to this day. The gas boiler was first filled with 60,000 cubic meters of long-distance gas on February 20, 1952. In 1997 the gasometer was taken out of service and is now in use for cultural and sport activities.
