The first smelting plant deep in the mountains of Ural was founded in 1782 by the Stroganov family. In 1879 a French-Russian company was established here and the blast furnaces were reconstructed betwen 1879 and 1889. Current blast furnace was errected in 1956 within the former french-made steel frame. Last tapping was done in 2009. To be demolished soon.
