Shaktha Chervonograds'ka N°2, terrikon (spoil heap)
One of the newest mines in the Lviv-Volyn coal basin, Chervonograds'ka N°2, was equipped with a giant aerial ropeway to connect the mine with its own spoil heap ("terrikon" in Ukrainian/Russian). Such kind of ropeway systems were developed during the USSR only in this relatively small coal basin. Today the system is no more in use, as the job is done by trucks.

Another view of the main tower.

A portion of the terrikon with the second tower, where the ropeway made a u-turn.

The mine seen from the heap.

A view towards another large terrikon, belonging not to a mine but to the central enrichment plant. That one is very well guarded and it's almost impossible to get closer.
