Industriepark Griesheim

One of the three large chemical plants in Frankfurt (not only banks there!), founded in 1856. In 1898 a merger created the Chemische Fabrik Griesheim-Elektron, which became famous in the chemical industry for its innovations in electrochemistry and development of new materials and polymers. Less than 1000 people are still employed there. Between1925 and 1946 Griesheim-Elektron was part of the IG Farben conglomerate.
